Follow these simple steps to self install Centurylink Modem
If you are using Centurylink and home phone. Make sure you connect each phone to the DSL filter to avoid any conflicts and disturbance with the speed.
Place your modem in a centrally high ventilated to location. Connect the AC power adapter to the back of the modem. If your modem has an ‘on’ button, switch it on, if it doesn’t have an ‘on’ button, it will get automatically switched on.
Connect the ethernet cable to any of the port on the backside of the modem. Connect the one end of the ethernet cable to the modem and the other end to your device.
Check and verify if all the connections have been made properly.
Restart your device and activate your services. Visit your web browser and check if the internet is working.
The first step to login to your Centurylink setup based page is to make sure that you are connected to the Centurylink network either through a wireless network or through a wired ethernet cable.
Once you have set up the router, visit the IP address 192.168.0.1 to log in to Centurylink web-based setup page. The IP address may vary depending upon your router model.
Once, you have entered the IP address, you will be directed to a login page. Enter the default username and password for Centurylink that is generally ‘admin’.
Once, logged in you can make changes to Centurylink network as per your requirements.
To change the default username and password for Centurylink, follow the given procedure.
For changing the default username and password for Centurylink, make sure you are connected to the Centurylink network. Once you are connected to the network, type in the IP address 192.168.0.1.
After navigating to the IP address, you will see a login page on the screen. Enter the default username and password for Centurylink that is ‘admin’.
Once you have login into the Centurylink modem setting, go to the Wireless Setup option.
Select the Wireless security option located on the left side. From here, you can change the network SSID and the passphrase or the security key for your Wifi.
After entering the desired SSID network name and the security key, click on the Apply button for changes to take place.
