To set up your AT & T router, follow the given procedure
Place your router at any place which is highly ventilated. Connect the AC power adapter to your router and then switch it on. If does not have an ‘on’ button, it will switch on automatically.
Once you have placed your router, connect the ethernet cable to any of the ports available at the backside of your router. Connet the one end to your laptop or PC and other end to your router.
Ensure that all the connections are properly made.
Once all the connections are properly made, open your web browser and check if the router has been activated.
To login into the router settings, make sure you are connected to AT & T router network either through a wireless network or through the ethernet cable.
Once you are connected to the AT & T network, navigate to the default AT & T IP address that is 192.168.1.254. The IP address may vary according to the model your router.
A login page will appear on your screen, enter your default AT & T username and password that is ‘admin’ for both the cases. In case, this does not work, locate the IP address at the side or back of your router.
Navigate to the AT & T IP address 192.168.1.254. Make sure you are connected to the AT&T network while entering the IP address.
You will see a login page on your screen, enter the default username and password that is ‘admin’.
Once you have logged in, go to the wireless setup option located at the left corner in the Home network option.
In the wireless security setup, you will see and option of ‘passphrase’ or security key. Enter the new password and confirm. You can also change the default SSID network name.
Once you are done with the above steps, click on apply button and wait for the changes to take place.
To reset you AT & T router to default settings, follow these simple steps.
Locate the reset button at the backside of your router, the reset button is generally like a pinhole. If you are unable to find the reset button, look in the AT&T router’s manual guide.
Press the reset button and hold for a few seconds with the help of a pin and then release it.
You will see a light flashing, once the light becomes stable, it indicates that your router has been restored to the default factory settings
